Producer Claims ‘Baristha Balram’ Collects 2 Crore in 5 Days, Is It Real or Fake?
The Nepali movie ‘Baristha Balram’, which was released nationwide on the day of Bhai Tika, has reportedly earned over NPR 2 crore within its first five days, according to its production team. The announcement was made on Tuesday through an official poster highlighting the film’s box office performance.
However, the Film Development Board of Nepal has not yet released an official box office report, meaning the exact figures are still awaiting confirmation.
Producer and distributor Ashish H. Tamang expressed satisfaction with the film’s commercial performance, stating that audience turnout has remained strong across the country even after the Tihar and Chhath holidays. He added that due to the film’s engaging story, the number of family audiences visiting theaters has continued to grow. In some cinemas, additional shows have been added due to high occupancy rates.
Audiences have particularly appreciated the on-screen chemistry between Dayahang Rai and Bijay Baral, along with the film’s dialogue, story, presentation, and the popular song “Nyauli Banaima.” Many viewers praised Baristha Balram for offering both entertainment and a strong social message, with some calling it a story deeply connected to Nepali soil.
Directed by Surendra Paudel, the film stars Dayahang Rai, Bijay Baral, Samriddhi Aryal, Pashupati Rai, Maotse Gurung, Bhola Raj Sapkota, and Pradeep Kumar Chaudhary, among others. The story and editing are also done by director Paudel himself, while the screenplay and dialogues are written by Mahesh Dawadi.
Baristha Balram explores the struggles of existence between two main characters, blending emotional depth, humor, and social reflection – a combination that has resonated strongly with audiences nationwide.
