Booking Opens for an Upcoming Neplai Movie ‘Paran’: How Many Shows Did It Get?
While Jerry on Top, released during the Tihar season, continues to dominate the box office for the second consecutive week, the Nepali film Paran is now entering commercial competition starting Friday (October 31). Alongside its release, the South Indian film Baahubali: The Epic is also hitting theaters at the same day – creating a tough box office challenge for Paran.
The film, which is set for a Thursday evening premiere, saw most multiplexes across the country open advance ticket bookings from Wednesday. However, due to the heavy lineup of both domestic and international films, Paran couldn’t secure as many shows as expected. According to Khalti App data, the movie received 64 shows nationwide on its opening day – 28 of them within the QFX cinema chain alone.
As Jerry on Top and Baahubali: The Epic together occupy over 200 shows across Nepal, Paran has been forced to settle for a limited number of screenings. Still, 64 shows are not considered too few, and even achieving a 50% occupancy rate would mark a successful opening. The production team remains confident that the film’s emotional storyline will attract strong support from family audiences.
Directed by popular comedian Deepak Prasad Acharya (Kaku), Paran features a star-studded cast including Neer Shah, Madan Krishna Shrestha, Pooja Chand, Keki Adhikari, Anjana Baraili, Mahesh Tripathi, Prabin Khatiwada, Yaman Shrestha, Buddhi Tamang, and Babin Rai. The film is produced by Shekhar Golchha of the Golchha Group and Ranjit Acharya of Prisma Advertising.
