Ashok Darji’s Struggle and Success Story in the Trailer of ‘Man Binako Dhan’

The trailer of the film ‘Man Binako Dhan’, based on the real-life story of popular child singer Ashok Darji, has been officially released. The trailer was launched during a special event held in Kathmandu on Wednesday, capturing the inspiring journey of Darji’s struggles, dreams, and success.

The film portrays Ashok’s transformation – from a young boy singing on the streets for money to becoming one of Nepal’s most loved singers. It beautifully blends love, laughter, tears, and joy, reflecting various social realities through his emotional story.

The trailer highlights Ashok Darji’s challenging childhood, his rise to fame after the viral success of the song “Man Binako Dhan”, his fun-filled school days, and the hardships faced by common people under the state system. It also touches on the theme of youth migration abroad. Some scenes hint at unexpected twists in the storyline, making the film even more intriguing.

The movie is directed by musician Tanka Budathoki, who also wrote the story himself. The screenplay is penned by Shivam Adhikari.

The film stars Ashok Darji, Saroj Khanal, Neeta Dhungana, Ramesh Bishwakarma, Bhola Sapkota, Buddhi Tamang, Ravindra Jha, Santosh Pant, Rama Thapaliya, Utsav Sapkota, A.R. Budhathoki, Shankar Shrestha, Samragyee Thapa, and Bina Raut in major roles.

Cinematography is by Saurabh Lama, choreography by Kaviraj Gahatraj and Ramji Lamichhane, editing by Mitra D. Gurung, and music by Tanka Budathoki.

‘Man Binako Dhan’ is set to release on Kartik 21, 2082 (November 7, 2025) across cinemas in Nepal. The film is produced by Bishnu Maya Mainali, with G.P. Sangrola, Vivek Nepal, and Vijaya Pandey as co-producers. Sapana Sharma serves as the executive producer.
