Dashain–Tihar Nepali Box Office Report: ‘Jerry On Top’ Leads the Chart, ‘Soltinee’ Falls Last
The Film Development Board of Nepal has officially released the domestic box office earnings of Nepali movies screened during the Dashain and Tihar festival season. According to the updated data up to Kartik 15, 2082, seven Nepali films competed at the box office, with Jerry On Top emerging as the clear festival winner.
‘Jerry On Top’ Dominates the Festival Box Office
Among all releases, Jerry On Top secured the No. 1 position by selling 333,605 tickets and collecting a massive NPR 10.51 crore. Its strong word-of-mouth and festive timing helped it outperform all other titles by a wide margin.
‘Balidan’ in Second Place
The action-drama Balidan claimed the second spot with 171,063 tickets sold and a total gross of NPR 5.10 crore. Despite strong competition, it maintained a solid audience base throughout the festival season.
‘Hari Bahadurko Jutta’ Takes Third Position
In third place, Hari Bahadurko Jutta managed to sell 149,237 tickets, earning NPR 4.71 crore at the domestic box office. Its comedic tone and family-friendly story contributed to its success.
Mid-Table Performers
Maitighar secured the fourth spot with 143,712 tickets sold and a collection of NPR 4.15 crore.
Released on Bhaitika, Barishtha Balaram achieved the fifth position, earning NPR 2.48 crore from 82,117 tickets sold.
Meanwhile, Maijharo took the sixth position with 33,942 tickets sold and a total of NPR 1.00 crore.
‘Soltinee’ Records Lowest Collection
At the bottom of the list is Soltinee, which struggled to attract audiences. It sold 8,804 tickets and collected only NPR 28.80 lakh, making it the least-performing film of the season.

Overall Festival Box Office Overview
Last year’s Dashain–Tihar season saw nearly NPR 90 crore in earnings from Nepali films. However, this year’s total festival earnings dropped significantly, with the seven films collectively making around NPR 29 crore.
Even though the overall revenue decreased, the performance is still considered respectable given the challenging national situation, including the aftermath of the Gen Z movement and widespread floods and landslides. Despite these obstacles, Nepali films managed to keep the festival box office active and engaging.
