After nearly eight years away from the director’s chair, filmmaker Laxman Rizal has officially announced his return with the much-anticipated Nepali movie Kaji. The team formally launched the project by performing a traditional camera and script worship ceremony (muhoorth) at the holy Dakshinkali Temple on Friday, Bhadra 6, 2082.

The event marked not only the beginning of production but also the revival of Rizal’s directorial journey, which had been on pause since his last feature nearly a decade ago. The production team will officially begin shooting Kaji on Bhadra 8 in Syangja, constructing an entire village set to provide the film with an authentic backdrop. This significant investment reflects the makers’ determination to create a visually compelling cinematic experience.
