Nepali Film Director and Actor Nischal Basnet Bereaved by Mother’s Demise
Film director and actor Nischal Basnet has lost his mother, Amrita Basnet, who passed away on Wednesday morning while undergoing treatment at Om Hospital in Kathmandu.
According to the family, 71-year-old Amrita Basnet had been ill for a long time and was undergoing regular dialysis. In recent days, she had also contracted pneumonia, which worsened her condition and led to her hospitalization.
Colleagues, fellow artists, and well-wishers have expressed their condolences to Nischal Basnet through social media.
The family has informed that Amrita Basnet’s final rites has performed yesterday in Kathmandu in the presence of close family members.
Nischal Basnet is one of Nepal’s renowned filmmakers and actors, known for his work in acclaimed films such as Loot, Talakjung vs Tulke, and Pashupati Prasad.
