Friday Releases: ‘Jaari 2’ Leads Over ‘Man Binako Dhan’ in Show Count

Two highly anticipated Nepali Movies ‘Jaari 2’ and ‘Man Binako Dhan’ are all set for a nationwide release this Friday. Theater schedules has been public and advance ticket sales underway, ‘Jaari 2’ has taken the lead in terms of show count across Nepal.

As of Wednesday morning (10:30 AM), data from the Khalti app shows that ‘Jaari 2’ has secured a total of 143 shows nationwide, making it the clear frontrunner. In contrast, ‘Man Binako Dhan’ is currently limited to 23 shows across the country. However, as a few theaters are yet to open their booking schedules, both films may still see a slight increase in show numbers.

Early reports suggest strong enthusiasm among audiences, especially in the eastern region of Nepal, where ‘Jari 2’ tickets are selling rapidly, with several shows already marked “sold out.” This early response signals high anticipation and excitement for the sequel.

Directed by Upendra Subba, ‘Jaari 2’ stars Dayahang Rai, Miruna Magar, Vijay Baral, Buddhi Tamang, Richa Sharma, Pushkar Gurung, Prem Subba, Kamalmani Nepal, Anil Subba, Rekha Limbu, and Sirjana Ninglkhuh. Cinematography is by Sanjay Lama. The film serves as the sequel to the 2023 blockbuster ‘Jaari’.

Meanwhile, ‘Man Binako Dhan’, directed by Tanka Budhathoki, is based on the real-life story of singer Ashok Darji, who also plays the lead role. The film features a star-studded cast including Santosh Pant, Rama Thapaliya, Saroj Khanal, Nita Dhungana, Ramesh Bishwakarma, Bhola Sapkota, Buddhi Tamang, Ravindra Jha, Utsav Sapkota, A.R. Budhathoki, and Bina Raut.

As the release day approaches, all eyes are on how these two contrasting Nepali films – one a blockbuster sequel and the other a biographical drama – will perform at the box office this weekend.
